On a 200, wastegate adjustment in situ is simple, on a 300, it's nearly as quick and definitely easier to just remove the manifold from the engine and downpipe. It's only 11 bolts/nuts. If the engine is good mechanically and hasn't done intergalactic mileage, shorten the wastegate actuator rod by 7mm. The exhaust manifold from 300tdi will not fit to a 200tdi head - the mounting holes are in different positions - I considered replacing the manifold & turbo while thinking of fitting 200tdi from disco to LT77 id an old 90. I would check for: - split/detached hoses (air escaping, though usually more of a hiss than a whistle if it happens) - blocked air filter. - split or otherwise leaking intercooler, whistle will be air escaping. - delaminated turbo hose (usually the little 90 deg one that comes out of the turbo heading towards the intercooler, looks OK from the Land Rover Discovery 300 TDI, 1996.
